Ingredients for 60 cookies (depending on size)
¤ 150 g of flour
¤ 150 g all-purpose flour
¤ 1 / 4 teaspoon salt
¤ A pinch of nutmeg
¤ 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
¤ A pinch of four species
¤ 100 g butter at room temperature
¤ 120 g of powdered organic sugar
¤ 2 tablespoons cream
¤ 1 egg
¤ The zest of one lemon
¤ 1 teaspoon baking powder chemical
How to make German cookie recipe:
Put the flour in a bowl. Pour the yeast, salt, spices, butter, cream, egg, sugar, lemon zest and knead until it is a very compact mass. Let stand 45 minutes.
Turn oven to 190 º C
Roll dough with rolling pin until it in 1 / 2 inch thick. Cut out cookies with selected mold or molds (hearts, round, etc..) And place on a greased baking tray with butter.
Bake for about 12 minutes or less (watch to prevent burning). Remove from oven, let cool slightly and place in a bowl or box.
I did not put as they are already very good and sweet without the sugar but if someone wants to do it:
1 egg unbeaten
100 g of powdered sugar
4 drops of food coloring (tea plant)
Mix the egg white and sugar, add the dye and brush the cookies after they have cooled. You can also put cherries or nuts on top.
Note: Instead of butter can be made with lard. And instead of brown sugar can be sweetened with stevia.
